We sell new and pre-loved books — the novels, series and nonfiction people actually want to read next — at prices well below the cover.

Every copy is checked and graded

Books aren't all the same, so we don't pretend they are. Each copy we list is inspected and given an honest condition grade, from New and Like New through Very Good, Good and Acceptable. When we have more than one copy of a title, you'll see each one on the book's page with its own grade and price, so you choose the copy that suits you.

Why buy second-hand?

• Better prices. Most of our books cost far less than new.
• Less waste. A good book deserves more than one reader.
• Harder-to-find titles. Earlier editions and series you can't always find on the shelf.

Simple shipping and returns

US shipping is a flat $3.99 on orders under $35 and free from $35. If a book doesn't match the grade we gave it, we'll make it right — see our returns policy.
